Business Retention & Expansion Manager
Do you have a passion to help the local business community? Elevate Rapid City is hiring a Business Retention & Expansion Manager to connect with existing businesses in the Black Hills region to facilitate expansion and retention opportunities. The BRE Manager will conduct dozens of business retention and expansion visits each quarter to assist businesses in identifying potential incentives for expansion, employee training and more. This position will also manage project cycles and establish relationships with regional and state partners, stakeholders, and existing primary-sector employers in the region. The BRE Manager will coordinate with other Elevate Pillars and economic development agencies in the region to maintain a cohesive effort when working with companies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, economic or community development, finance, or related discipline, preferred, or any combination of training and experience, recommended
- Experience owning a business, or in business management, real-estate, or economic related field, preferred
- Experience reviewing business financial statements and loan applications, preferred
- Understanding of local, regional, state, and federal incentives, licensing, and permitting requirements
- Ability to identify client needs and challenges, with exceptional follow-up
- Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable creating and delivering information through presentations
- Ability to exercise independent judgment and initiative to meet deadlines and coordinate multiple projects
- Technical proficiency working in Microsoft Office programs, databases, and CRM’s
